Policy Specialist (Senior to Principal level) (선임-수석급 정책 연구원)
The Good Food Institute Korea is seeking a Policy Specialist to spearhead GFI Korea's work with the Korean government on alternative proteins. This is a high-impact role shaping how quickly Korea transitions to a more sustainable and ethical food system. You will lead, coordinate, and grow workstreams dedicated to driving impactful policy initiatives for alternative proteins at the national and provincial levels. You will deliver strategic planning and execution that collaborates with policymakers, nonprofit organisations, and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement policy strategies to achieve positive policy changes - Build relationships with senior politicians and officials across legislative bodies, central ministries, and provincial governments - Build alliances with nonprofit organisations, industry players, and other stakeholders - Represent GFI Korea at external events on policy issues related to alternative proteins - Monitor domestic and international policy developments - Draft detailed submissions, presentations, and concept notes - Participate in regional and global policy fora This is a full-time remote role based anywhere in South Korea. Flexible hours with occasional night/early morning meetings for global coordination. The team meets in person approximately twice per year. Application deadline: April 12, 2026. Requirements
At least 7 years of experience in Korean public policy, politics, policy advocacy/research, public affairs consulting, food regulation, or related disciplines. Degree or equivalent experience in public policy, political science, law, or public administration strongly preferred. Native-level Korean fluency and business-level English proficiency required. Strong experience engaging with government agencies and policymakers. Experience building coalitions among partners with different objectives.
